Jennifer J. Preece is Professor and Dean Emerita at the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, USA. A member of the University of Maryland Human-Computer Interaction Lab (HCIL) and Fellow of the ACM’s Special Interest Group on Computer Human Interaction (SIGCHI), Jennifer’s research focuses on the use of technology in citizen and environmental science, human–computer interaction, online communities, and online participation and engagement. Among her current activities, she is the principle investigator of the NSF/AISL project entitled “Innovations in Development: Community-Driven Projects That Adapt Technology for Environmental Learning in Nature Preserves” and the NatureNet Project. Jennifer has authored several books, including a co-authored book entitled Interaction Design: Beyond Human-Computer Interaction, 5th Edition, published by John Wiley & Sons, 2019.
