Les Petits Débrouillards

Originally trained as a psychologist, Lucile Ottolini has been involved in volunteering since her early studies. She joined Les Petits Débrouillards almost ten years ago and has held mostly any position at the NGO: youth worker in popular neighborhoods where summer activities were organized, forums' moderator on science-society topics for hundreds of people, instructor for students interested in science-society debates and now President of the administrative council of a French-area association (Grand Est, Hauts de France and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté regions). Les Petits Débrouillards is a non-profit organisation part of an international network which fights for the right to scientific education for everyone, particularly the more excluded people. Created in France more than thirty years ago, their action largely beneficiates popular districts of big cities and rural peolpe. Their topics of intervention are ecological, numerical and socio-democratic transitions; they believe inequalities can only be fought through a global approach including the right to culture and education (which the right to science is an essential part of).
